Four killed, two injured in two separate road accidents

Four persons were killed and two others were injured in two separate road accidents which took place in the national capital on the wee hours today.

Two youths were killed and another suffered serious injuries when the motorcycle they were riding lost balance and hit a pole in the BRT corridor stretch between Lajpat Nagar and Defence Colony around 3.30 am, the police said.

The trio - identified as Abhishek (18), Aamir (27) and Mukesh (19) - lived in southeast Delhi's Zamrudpur area and were heading towards Lodhi Road to celebrate Diwali at a friend's house

The trio were rushed to the AIIMs Trauma Centre where Abhishek and Aamir, both residents of Darjeeling, were declared brought dead and Mukesh, who is a native of Almora, was admitted in a critical condition, the police said.
 

In a separate incident near Delhi Cantonment area, two youths were killed and their friend was injured when their motorbike crashed. The police are yet to ascertain whether they lost control over the vehicle or they were hit by some other vehicle.

A police team rushed the trio to the hospital, where two of them - later identified as Manish (21) resident of Moti Bagh area, and Gaurav Gupta (30), resident of Prem Bari area - were declared brought dead and their friend Prashant (23) resident of RK Puram area, was admitted in a critical condition, said police.

Their bike was found crashed on the lane heading down the Rao Tula Ram flyover.
