The project of four-laning of Ludhiana-Talwandi road is 50 per cent complete and the remaining work would be over by March next year, Punjab PWD Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, said here today.
The four-laning of 78 km long stretch of Ludhiana-Talwandi road was being done with the cost of 479 crore, he said in a statement here.
The Minister said that four major four-lane projects are also under construction in the state including Ropar-Chamkaur Sahib-Neelon-Doraha, Morinda-Kurali-Siswan, Kotkapura-Sri Muktsar Sahib and Batala-Mehta-Beas.
He said that these projects would be completed by December next year which would provide a sigh of relief to daily commuters from traffic congestions besides saving their precious time and energy.
The expenditure on these four projects covering 149.80 kms would be Rs 454 crore, he said.
Divulging the details of the four-laning projects that have already been completed, Dhillon said that Dhilwan- Amritsar, Amritsar-Wagha Border, Jalandhar-Bhogpur, Mukerian- Pathankot, Kurali-Kiratpur Sahib and Zirakpur-Ambala Road have been four-laned with the cost of Rs 1466 crore.
He said that these six projects cover 230 km long stretch of roads.
