Four-laning of Nagpur-Bhandara stretch launched

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways C P Joshi laid the foundation stone for the Rs 485 crore project in presence of Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mukul Wasnik.

Maharashtra Minister for Social Justice and District Guardian Minister, Shivjirao Moghe, and Minister of State for Finance Rajendrea Mulak were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Joshi said the UPA government has drawn an ambitious plan to develop the roads and infrastructure which will ultimately help develop the nation. Roads and connectivity play an important role in the development of the area.

Wasnik called for speeding up remaining expansion of roads between Nagpur and Kondhali towards Amravati on National Highway number 6 and also on Nagpur-Kamptee and Kanhan stretch towards Jabalpur on National Highway number 7.

 

Under the project, four-laning of Nagpur-Wainganga bridge section is being taken up on design build finance operate transfer (DBFOT) basis and work will be completed by Sept 8, 2014.

There will be three major bridges, nine minor bridges, one flyover, four underpass, 51 culverts and a toll plaza will come up in Mathani village.
