Four Maoists held in AP

According to police, during a routine vehicle-check operation today between Devarpally and Kudunur, an autorickshaw, in which four persons were travelling, was intercepted.

All of them belonged to a Maoist party and were going to meet a party leader, police said.

One of the arrested, K Ashok Reddy alias Murali was a member of the Maharashtra State Committee of the party, they added.

The three Maoist couriers were identified as Chintapally Venkateswarulu alias Sreenu, S K Bhiku Bhai alias Bhasha and Venkataramana, police said.

According to police, Venkateswarulu was staying in Chhattisgarh and was allegedly involved in supplying arms to Maoists in Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
