Four Maoists held in Bihar

Four hardcore Maoists were arrested today with explosives from Bihar's Aurangabad and Munger districts, police officials said.

Acting on a tip off, the security forces raided Jharna village under Dhibra police station area in Aurangabad district and arrested three Maoists, identified as Amrendra Yadav, Unetu Ganjhu and Jagdish Ganjhu, when they were returning to a hide out after meeting with their sub-zonal commander called Azad, Superintendent of Police (SP) Upendra Kumar Sharma said.

On the identification of the arrested ultras, the police seized two cane bombs from Tendui village under Dhibra police station area, he said adding that the trio was being interrogated.
 

In a related development, the security forces arrested a hardcore Maoist Sanjay Sharma from Khudivan village under Dharhara police station area in Munger district, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Munger range, Sudhanshu Kumar said.

The ultra, said to be the zonal commander of the proscribed CPI(Maoists), was wanted in over a dozen cases of naxal violence in Jamui district and surrounding areas in Bihar and Jharkhanad, he said.
