Four member gang involved in prostitution nabbed

: Police have nabbed a four-member gang allegedly involved in prostitution and rescued two women from them.

The arrested were identifided as Kerala-based Shamsuddeen who was aided by Vijayaraghavan, Ganesan and Soundarapandian here, police said.

They were arrested last night by the Anti-Vice Squad based on information.

Two women--hailing from Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal were rescued from them and sent to a government home, police said, adding a car and two motorbikes used by the group were recovered.

Meanwhile, an accused who was part of a counterfeit currency ring was arrested today, police said.

Saddam Hussen was part of a three-member gang from Assam, and police had arrested two others on Saturday. A police team had earlier recovered counterfeit notes of the face value of Rs 2.74 lakh which was buried in a construction site here.
