Four-member gang opens fire at jeweller and loots jewellery

An unidentified four-member gang which arrived in a car, fired from a pistol injuring the 30-year-old owner of a jevellery shop and looted jewellery at 3.30 pm today, the police said tonight.

The injured jeweller, who has been identified as Abhay Arun Shahane has been admitted to a private hospital, the police said, adding that details of the incident are still being awaited.

After the dacoity, DCP D S Swami rushed to Shahane Jewellers' showroom, where the incident took place, sources said.
