Acting on tip-off, the city police arrested four members of a seven-member dacoit gang, which had allegedly planned kidnappings and dacoity.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) S Varada Raju told reporters here today that the arrested were identified as G Ramu (25), S Dali Raju (24), K Siva Kumar (26) and Mahammed Rafie (26) of various parts in the city.
The police said three members of the seven-member gang are absconding and they were identified as Santhosh Kumar, D Ganesh and Vikram.

The police official said that the gang conducted recconaissance of some places, where they intended to commit crimes.
He alleged that the gang plotted to kidnap a noted doctor near King George Hospital in the city on June 14 to demand a ransom of Rs 15 lakh.
They also moved to Bheemili and planned to commit dacoity in a jewellery shop as well as planned to kidnap a boy for a ransom of Rs 5 lakh.
However, none of their plans worked out and they were arrested, he said.
