Four men were arrested for allegedly looting Rs 44.5 lakhs by shooting and injuring two medicine suppliers in northwest Delhi's Keshav Puram, the police said today.
The accused were identified as Saddam, Sandeep, Pawan Kumar and Ilteza, they said.
Two country made pistols, stolen cash of Rs 21.5 lakh, one gold chain worth Rs 2.5 lakh which was purchased from stolen amount and five mobile phones used in the commission of crime were recovered from their possession, the police said.
On July 30, police were informed that four men came in a white swift car and stole cash by firing and injuring two men who were taken to a private hospital in Shalimar Bagh.
When police reached the hospital, they found that both the injured identified as Raj Kumar Bhasin and Tejpal Singh were lying unconscious. The victim had sustained gunshot injuries and were unfit to give their statement, Aslam Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest) said.
Police sources were deployed and more than 200 criminals were interrogated. The crime scene was visited and clues were developed by scanning footage from CCTVs installed in the vicinity of the crime scene. Subsequently, the gang members were identified and arrested, Khan said.

During interrogation, the accused Saddam confessed committing the robbery along with his associates. He disclosed that Iltiza had given him tip-off that two men from Maya Muniram hospital were carrying cash in a black coloured i20 car.
Saddam then shared the details with his friend Sandeep and asked him to arrange required manpower for robbing the duo who often collected and moved cash from the hospital in Pitampura. Sandeep then introduced Pawan Kumar and Vinay to Saddam. Later, Saddam introduced his associates Chhota Hunny and Ravi Chauhan to them. Together, they all plotted and executed the robbery, the DCP said.
Police teams have been sent to Goa, Mumbai, Meerut and Hapur to trace the other accused involved in the case, the DCP added.
