Four Pakistan Taliban militants were killed today in a gun-battle with security forces in the country's restive northwestern tribal region bordering Afghanistan.

Militants belonging to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) clashed with security forces in Malik Shiga village in Jamrud Tehsil of Khyber Agency in which four terrorists were gunned down, officials said.

After the encounter, a curfew was imposed in the area and a search operation was launched to trace other militants.

The authorities have handed over a list of 70 wanted extremists to the tribal elders.

Meanwhile, some unidentified attackers shot dead three suspected militants while they were riding on a motorcycle in Jani Khel area of Bannu district in Khyber Pakthunkhwa.

The three were facing terrorism charges and wanted in several cases.
