Four months after, robbed four kg gold ornaments recovered

Four months after gold ornaments weighing over five kg were robbed from a car in a busy shopping area here, police have recovered 530 sovereigns worth Rs 1.25 crore and arrested a person in the case.

Suspect Yesudoss was nabbed near Independence Park in Nungambakkam on January 29 and he has confessed to having committed the crime, police said.

Of the total five kg, ornaments weighing over 4.235 kg, worth Rs 1.25 crore were recovered from him, police said.

The accused has been remanded to judicial custody.

In September last, the gold ornaments were robbed from a moving car, after its owner's attention was diverted, near Duraisamy subway in the T Nagar area.
