Four Muscat-bound women caught with fake tourist visas

Four women who were trying to board a flight to Muscat allegedly on fake tourist visas were today arrested by police at the airport here.

The women, hailing from West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, were on their way to the Oman's capital for employment.

During checking of their documents at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad, it came to light that they were in possession of fake tourist visas, Airport Police Station Sub-Inspector Mahesh said.

The women, who are in the age group 28 to 51, were booked for cheating and other charges under relevant sections of IPC, and subsequently arrested, he said.
 

An inquiry was on to find out the possible role of any travel/visa agent in the case, the officer added.
