Four persons were arrested from Kondgaon district today for allegedly working at the behest of naxals and indulging in looting and assaulting a tribal family, police said.

"The Naxal sympathisers were nabbed from Mardapal police station area by a joint team of security forces," Kondagaon superintendent of police, Santosh Singh told PTI.

A composite squad of District Reserve Group (DRG) and district force had launched a search operation in remotely-located Nawagaon, Ehra, Mulnar and Nahkanar villages, around 350 kms away from here in the interiors of Mardpal, the SP said.

"During the operation they rounded up Raju Tamar, Danu Korram, Jagdev Tamar and Boti Ram, who were involved in a recent incident of loot and threatening a tribal family of Nahkanar," he said.

They were among the ultras who had abducted one Massu Ram Mandavi (21) from Nahkanar village last month and later thrashed him and his family, following which the victims left their native place, the SP said.

The cadres had also looted cash and articles worth around Rs 3 lakh from the relatives of Mandavi, the SP added.
