Four of a family get lifers

Four members of a family were sentenced to life in jail by a court in Palamau district today in connection with a dowry-related killing in 2012.

The court of District and Session Judge G K Dubey sentenced Kapil Rajwar, his father Sukhari Rajwar, mother Bilaiti Rajwar and elder brother Bucha Rajwar to life imprisonment for beating Sangita Devi, wife of Kapil, to death for dowry on February 1, 2012 at Jamua village under Hussainabad police station.

Sangita's father Basant Rajwar, who was a resident of Madhubana village under Harihargunj police station of the district, had in an FIR accused Sangita's husband, his parents and elder brother of committing the crime.
 

The incident had taken place four years after Kapil got married to Sangita.
