Four of a family killed as car overturns in Gujarat

Four members of a family, including three girls, were today killed and three others injured when their car overturned and caught fire in Amirgarh tehsil, police said.

The incident took place this morning on a bridge around 16 km from Amirgarh in Banaskantha district of Gujarat when seven members of a Udaipur-based family were going to a water park in Mehsana, Amirgarh Police Station Officer Chamanbhai said.

The driver lost control of the vehicle due to unknown reasons. After this, the car overturned after hitting the wall and caught fire, he said.

The deceased have been identified as Monika Shahu (40), and her daughters Nehal Shahu (5) and Monal Shahu (11) and one Vimani Shahu (6).
 

The three who sustained minor injuries were discharged after being treated at a local hospital, police said.
