Four of a gang involved in killing, robberies held

Police today claimed to have busted a four-member gang from Karol Bagh area involved in the killing of two men and robberies in the city.

Subhash (19), Alladin (19), and two juveniles were arrested from Karol Bagh area and a car and stolen items were recovered from their possession, police said.

The four, along with another accomplice, had on January 19 assaulted a group of 12 waiters at Shiv Murti on NH 8, and robbed one of their mobile phones. Later, they ran over two of them with their car, leaving them grievously injured, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) B S Jaiswal said.
 

The victims were taken to AIIMS, but one of them was declared dead, and the other succumbed to injuries, he said.

During investigation, it was found that the gang used fake licence numbers and had committed three other robberies.

The gang was traced to Karol Bagh area, and four of them were nabbed from the area, while one person is still absconding, police said.

Further investigation is being carried out to find out their other involvements and to nab the absconding person, police said.
