Four of interstate gang arrested

The arrested were identified as Abdul Rauf hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Gafar Khan, Mohammed Mudasir and Rajesh (all from Bangalore), police said in a statement here.

Abdul Rauf, who was involved in 29 criminal cases, had been avoiding arrest warrant and was wanted by Mumbai and Pune police. While Khan is allegedly involved in a dowry harassment case, the other two are wanted in murder and kidnap cases.

The four were allegedly hatching a conspiracy to rob gold chains from lone women taking a walk in a park, when they were nabbed.

The accused were produced before a local court and remanded to judicial custody.
