The Haflong based 11 Gorkha Rifles battalion engaged in security of the railway broad gauge construction project in Assam's Dima Hasao district apprehended four persons and two vehicles in connection with theft of railway materials.
The battalion based on its intelligence inputs conducted checking operation and nabbed the persons from two vehicles carrying stolen railway iron from the metre gauge section near Bagetar railway station under Haflong police station yesterday, said Gorkha Rifles sources today.
The apprehended persons were handed over to Haflong police along with the stolen material, they said.
