With the arrest of four persons, the Cyber Cell of Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a gang which used to dupe gullible people by selling them fake 'Lal Kitab' and 'Yes We Can' astrology booklets charging to the tune of Rs 10,000 to 15 ,000 per piece.

The accused, identified as Tarun Kumar Agarwal (20) was arrested in this connection on Friday while his other associates, identified as Sanjeev Kumar (23), Giriraj Kishore Varshney (30) and Rajesh Narula (39) were arrested yesterday. All four are residents of Hathras, Uttar Pradesh.

The gang came under police scanner when one Rajesh Sharma, Director M/s Astro Science Technologies, Pvt approached police and alleged that some persons are selling products without authorization on behalf of his company (popularly known as Lal Kitab).

"It was also alleged that suspect persons had also stolen their client data from their call center and they were calling their clients on behalf of the complainant company and selling them incomplete, fabricated and duplicate 'LalKitab' and 'YES I CAN CHANGE' astrology booklets and other materials to the clients," said Deputy Commissioner of Police EOW) S D Mishra.

A case in this regard was registered and investigations were taken up by the Cyber Cell of Delhi Police.

During investigations it was revealed that the suspect persons were using the stolen data of the complainant company and then making calls to all potential clients on their behalf. Careful analysis of the call records, the courier delivery receipts and enquiries from the victims revealed that Hathras in UP was the hub of this racket.
