Four persons, including a teenaged boy, died and two others were seriously injured in an explosion at a fireworks manufacturing unit near here, police said today.
The four were in the process of making crackers when the explosion occurred, triggering a fire in the unit at Taramangalam last night, police said.
Fire service personnel extinguished the blaze.
The shop was gutted, police said, adding the owner of the unit is absconding
Two injured women have been admitted to the government hospital here.
