Four persons killed one injured in road accident in Odisha

At least four persons were killed and another was critically injured when a car carrying them dashed against a tree in Kalahandi district, police said today.

The mishap took place on National Highway - 26 near Hati river bridge when they were returning to Junagarh after having dinner at a dhaba at Mathura late last night, the police said.

The vehicle hit a roadside tree while approaching the Hati river bridge, around 1 km from Junagarh, apparently after losing control and overturned, killing four friends on the spot and leaving one seriously injured, police said.

The injurd was sent to the district headquarters hospital here for treatment and later shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla as his condition deteriorated, they said.
 

The deceased were identified as Ganesh Mahalik, Bablu Mahalik, Arun Sahu and Biswajit Pradhan, while the injured was Abhi Bag, they added.
