Four persons were killed and two others were missing when a boat capsized in the sea at Middle Andaman, officials said today.

The overloaded country boat with 25 passengers was coming from Curtberth Bay to Betapur when it capsized yesterday, Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman, Sanjay Kumar said.

While two bodies were fished out from the sea by the Coast Guard, one body was found by the police and another body by the Navy, the DC said.

Nineteen passengers, including women and children, swam to the shore safely.

They were shifted to a primary health centre in Middle Andaman and given medical aid, he said.

Search operations were on in full swing, he said.
