sub-inspector, were suspended for alleged dereliction of duty in connection with a rape case.

Sub-Inspector Anita Meena of Kotwali police station, and three constables Badri Prasad, Mohan and Amar Singh were suspended by the district SP on Monday night.

The action was taken against the cops on a report by additional SP which was constituted after intervention of Minister of State Jitendra Singh, sources said today.

It was alleged by the family members of a minor girl, who was allegedly raped on December 17, that the police initially refused to lodge an FIR against the accused.

Though the FIR was registered on December 21, the accused were not arrested and the policemen were showing laxity in the case.

The SP has also recommended action against Deputy SP Ashok Meena in this connection.
