Four robbers decamp with valuables

In a daring daylight robbery, four unidentified persons barged into a house of a director of a well-known real estate company and held her 60-year-old wife hostage, gagged her and her domestic help and fled with valuables and cash worth Rs 54 lakh.

The incident took place around 4 PM on Tuesday when the woman, identified as Beena, was alone at her home situated in G Block of Kalkaji area as her husand, son and daughter-in-law were at their work.

Police said that accused, who came in a white car, barged into the director's house and threatened his wife of dire consequence if she screamed for help.
 

The robbers, who tied her hands with tape and stuffed her mouth with a cloth, started searching for valubles at home. Meanwhile, her domestic help Bhagwan Das reached there. They also tied his hands and gagged his mouth. Thereafter, they went up to her son's room where they found a locked almirah.

Police said that when they failed to break open the almirah, they decided to take it with them.

"Due to noise coming out from Beena's house, her neighbour came out and found some persons taking the almirah from her house. When they fled, neighbour checked on Beena, who along with her domestic help Bhagwan Das, was found lying inside with their mouth gagged and hands tied," officer also said.

Police have got a footage of CCTV installed outside Beena's house in which the robbers were spotted entering the house.

Police suspect insider's role in the robbery and are interrogating the victim's servants and drivers.

Police said that they are yet to ascertain the total value of robbed valuables and cash.

A case has been registered at Kalkaji Polie station. Police are taking the help of CCTV footage to identify the accused. Police will soon arrest them and further investigation is on," officer added.
