The accident took place as the driver lost control of the bus that ran over six persons standing by the roadside, the sources said, adding four persons, identified as Ganesh Singh (65), Mira Kumari (10), Sunil Kumar Singh (45) and Kishori Devi (45) died on the spot.
Two others sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital, they said.
Locals blocked Mashrakh-Gopalpur road carrying bodies of the victims and demanded compensation to the kins of the affected families.
