Four smugglers held with arms and ammunition

The Special Task Force (STF) today arrested four smugglers with a cache of arms and ammunition from a village in Bihar's Khagaria district, a police officer said.

Acting on a tip off, the STF team raided Rahimpur-Sonebarsa dhal village and arrested four smugglers with a cache of arms and ammunition, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Anil Kumar Singh said.

The items seized from the smugglers included five pistols, 250 cartridges of .315 bore rifle, two mobile phones, three debit cards and Rs. 1400 in cash, he said.

Two of four arrested smugglers, identified as Sajir Singh and Charan Singh, are natives of Moradabad and Sambhal districts of Uttar Pradesh, whie the other ones, identified as Md. Afsar and Brajesh Yadav, are residents of Khagaria and Saharsa districts of the state, the SP added.
