"We had four suspected cases of chicken pox among our students. Our medical officer confirmed the same ... We have informed the parents of these children and advised them to seek a second opinion," Joyce Koul, Headmistress of Kashmir Valley School at Humhama, said.

Koul said the students showing symptoms of the contagious disease have been isolated and sent back home.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma has deputed a team to the school for a full assessment of the situation.

Director Health Services Kashmir Saleem-ur-Rehman said chicken pox is not yet confirmed.

"The experts are doing the necessary tests. We will take the necessary steps in case of any confirmed cases," he said.
