Four suspected Myanmarese nationals apprehended by police

Four suspected Myanmarese nationals have been apprehended by police from Teliamura railway station, about 40 kms from here

Police today said they apprehended the youths last evening on suspicion that the strangers were Rohingyas of Myanmar who might have sneaked into Indian territory through neighbouring Bangladesh.

The youths after getting down from Agartala bound Lumbding Expressed at Teliamura station were asking the name of the station and how far was Agartala, police said.

On preliminary interrogation, they said they were searching for job.

Rohingyas of Myanmar are using Tripura as a transit route to enter Indian heartland following conflict with Buddhists in central Myanmar.
