Four Tamil Nadu fishermen were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy on Tuesday for allegedly fishing off Neduntheevu, a fisheries department official said.
The fishermen from Kottaipattinam in Pudukottai district had ventured into the sea on Monday and were fishing near Neduntheevu when the Sri Lankan naval personnel reached the spot and arrested them, Assistant Director of Fisheries, Pudukottai, Kumaresan said.
The fisherfolks were taken to Kangesanthurai port in the island nation along with their boat, he said.
On August 13, seven fishermen from here were arrested by the Lankan Navy for allegedly fishing off Neduntheevu.
