The police today arrested four traders for evading VAT and duping the Telangana Commercial Tax Department through forged documents.
G Prasad, P Ramanjaneyulu Reddy, P Divakar Reddy and Upendram Laxminarayana Raju were arrested on a complaint filed by an Assistant Commercial Tax Officer.
The accused, who dealt in pulses, edible oils, etc., evaded VAT of Rs 5.58 crore, Deputy Commissioner of Police Avinash Mohanty said.
