Four villagers injured in leopard attack

Four persons were injured in a leopard attack near here in Eastern Maharashtra, a forest department official said.

The incident took place yesterday morning after the feline strayed into Manemohadi village near Talodhi range under Brahmapuri division of forests, he said.

The big cat attacked four villagers, leaving them injured, said the official.

The injured were admitted to Primary Health Centre at village Masal, he said.

When the villagers chased the feline, it ran away and hid near a culvert. Efforts were on to capture the beast by tranquilising it, the officer added.
