Four women killed in road accident

Four women were killed and eight others, including a minor were injured when a vehicle carrying pilgrims from here met with a road accident at Chapar in Assam's Dhubri district today.

Police said the vehicle overturned as it tried to negotiate a curve on way to Mahamaya temple, considered to be one of the oldest Shakti shrines in the country.

Three women were killed on the spot and another died in the hospital, where the injured were rushed, the police said adding the four women were related.
