Four-year-old girl killed as house catches fire in Rohini

A four-year-old girl was killed early today after a fire broke out in her house in Buddh Vihar area of Rohini, the fire department said.

The fire started in the house around 3.15 AM and engulfed two floors of the building, and a utensils shop on the ground floor, a Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official said.

Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was doused around 5 AM.

After the fire tenders rescued members of a family from the blaze, it was found that a girl named Babli, was still stuck inside the house.

She was pulled out from the blaze in an unconscious condition and rushed to a hospital where doctors declared here "brought dead", the police said.
 

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, they added.

In another incident, a fire broke out at a cloth godown in southeast Delhi's Tughlakabad area around 1 PM.

Eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was dooused around 5 PM, the DFS official said.
