Fourteen killed in two separate road mishaps in Andhra Pradesh

As many as 10 persons, including four women and two children, who were on a pilgrimage from Bangalore, were killed when their Toyota Qualis collided head-on with a lorry between Atmakur and Velgodu villages in Kurnool district at around 3.45 pm, they said.

The deceased were identified as Prema, Renuka, Chandana, Pallavi, Navya and Hamsa (both children) and Venkatesh, Nagraj, Kumar, and Ramu, an investigating officer told PTI over phone from Atmakur mandal of Kurnool.

"The victims, all from Bangalore, were on their way to Mahanandi after visiting Srisailam when the mishap occurred," he said.

In another incident, four persons were killed and two others injured when their car hit a road-divider before ramming into a lorry near Bhongir by-pass road in Nalgonda district after midnight, police said, adding the victims belonged to Hyderabad. PTI VVK NSK
