FOX Network has given go-ahead signal to Steven Spielberg's comedic soap 'Red Band Society' and writer Michael Cooney's arms-dealing drama 'Runner' among other series.

The projects have been picked up by the network with an eye toward series commitments, reported Ace Showbiz.

The two will join other shows like 'Gracepoint', 'Hieroglyph' and Batman prequel series 'Gotham'.

The network has also asked for the additional backup scripts order and series prototype after it has given a go to the project from executive producers Steven Spielberg, Margaret Nagle, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Sergio Aguero.

The dark humour show 'Red Band Society' is about a group of teenagers living as patients in the children's wing of a hospital who become unlikely friends and a surrogate family.

Whereas the 'Runner' captures the tough world of arms dealing through the unexpected perspective of a woman.
