Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers' (APNGOs) Association, which today held a dharna against the draft AP Re-organisation Bill-2013 at Indira Park here, lodged a police complaint alleging that Vijayawada Congress MP L Rajagopal was "pulled down" from the dais by some pro-Telangana activists, police said.

"We have received a complaint by one representative of APNGOs alleging that the Vijayawada MP was pulled down from the dais at the dharna venue. We are still not sure about the alleged incident. However, we have to examine the video footage. We will take further action as per law," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone) V B Kamalasan Reddy told PTI tonight.

Local TV channels showed the MP falling down as he was about to address the gathering, even as few pro-Telangana activists were seen near the dais holding flags of Telangana Yuva Shakti and raising slogans in support of statehood after which the event was briefly disrupted.

The dharna, otherwise passed off peacefully except a minor scuffle between some members of APNGOs Association and pro-Telangana activists. However, police intervened and controlled the situation from getting out of control.
