Against the backdrop of the Supreme Court ruling asking former UP Chief Ministers to vacate their bungalows, former Rajasthan CM has asked the state government to 'form a policy" about the accommodation he is entitled to.

Gehlot, who is a sitting Congress MLA from Sardarpura, has written a letter to the General Administration department demanding the state government take a decision and inform him about the official residence allotted to him.

This comes in wake of Supreme court's ruling quashing rules framed by Uttar Pradesh government in 1997 entitling former chief ministers to occupy Type-VI government bungalows for their lifetime.

Ex-UP chief ministers, including Rajnath Singh, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mayawati, will have to vacate their palatial Lucknow bungalows in two months with the Supreme Court quashing the state rules giving "largesse" to former CMs without any "element of reasonableness".

Gehlot demanded even Rajasthan government should frame a policy for the state.
