This was stated in Rajya Sabha by WCD Minister Krishna Tirath in her reply to an unstarred question.
"A framework of multi-sectoral nutritional action plan, interalia indicating the 200 high burden districts, has been proposed to the Planning Commission in January 2012 for 'in principle' approval," Tirath said.
The criteria proposed for the selection of districts is based on figures of District Level Health Facility Survey of 2002-04, on prevalence of anaemia among pregnant women aged 15-44 years and percent of underweight children under six, she said.
In response to another question, the WCD minister said that it had commissioned a study to the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to evaluate the Working Women Hostel scheme.
