"There is a great potential and possibilities to work with

the Rajasthan government in renewable energy specially solar energy, urban development and tourism sectors", an official release quoting him said.

After exploring and working out business potential in Karnataka, France would be interested in working in Rajasthan viewing investment possibilities, Hermelin said.

Speaking to the delegation, Raje said Rajasthan is taking concrete steps to strengthen its infrastructure.

Building infrastructures is important as it will help improve the living standards of people in the state, she said.

Rajasthan is one of the fastest growing states in the country and there was a great potential for investment there in view of mines of minerals and metals, besides heritage and tourism sectors opened for foreign tourists, she said.

As much as 39 per cent of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor passed through Rajasthan which would give further impetus to the state and woo investment in many sectors and projects, Raje said.

Rajasthan has fixed a target of setting up 25,000 MW solar energy production in next five years, and Bikaner, Jaisalmer, and Jodhpur were best suited for this power generation, Raje said.

The delegation included the French Ambassador to India Francois Richier besides representatives from 25 French companies specialising in urban infrastructure development.
