The 1974 Silver Shadow was bought by the singer in 1979. He drove it until his death in 1991 at the age of 45. Since then it has been looked after by his sister, reported Daily Star online.

Inside the car the buyer will find a box of tissues which Freddie's family found too painful to remove after his death.

The car will be sold on January 12 by Coys in Birmingham and could fetch around 11,000 pounds.

Freddie died of bronchopneumonia brought on by AIDS in 1991, only one day after publicly acknowledging he had the disease.
