Free health check-up camp in flood-hit Majuli

A two-day free health check up camp was conducted by Vivekananda Kendra NRL Hospital in the flood affected areas of Majuli recently, an NRL press release said here today.

The camp, conducted in association with Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Majuli, treated 600 patients and free medicines were also distributed in two remote villages, Bhakat Chapori and Pahumara in the river island.

The medical team comprised Dr Diganta Konwar, Dr Dwijendra Milli, Dr Dharma Kanta Hira, staff nurses, helpers from Vivekananda Kendra NRL Hospital, Karyakartas from Vivekananda Kendra along with two doctors from Majuli government hospital, the release added.
