Free Tablets for SC students, bicycles for SC girls in Haryana

Students belonging to Scheduled Castes in Haryana would get Tablets free of cost from Haryana government to get technical education, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced.

Also, under Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Programme, free bicycles would be given to girl students belonging to Scheduled Castes, he told the Assembly.

He also he announced that they would be given books worth of Rs 1000 for diploma courses and of Rs 2500 for graduate and post graduate courses.

He said that while one Tablet would cost Rs 8000, each bicycle would cost Rs 2500.

He also announced that students with disabilities studying in school and colleges would now get a minimum scholarship of Rs 700 per month instead of Rs 400.
 

Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries were being given scholarship upto Rs 2500 per month. He said that a financial assistance at the rate of Rs 700 per month is already being given to the children with disability between the age group of 0 to 18 years who were not attending schools.
