Freight rate eases on excess trucks position

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations weakened by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today owing to excess enquiries by truck operators amid less cargo movement.

Transporters said fall in arrivals of cargo and increased enquiries by truckers mainly pulled down some of centres freight rates.

Delhi to Puducherry and Coimbatore freight rates dropped by Rs 1000 each to Rs 72,000 and Rs 76,000.

Rates to Pune and Indore also fell by Rs 1000 each to Rs 32,000 and Rs 23,000.
