Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section declined by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following easy availability of trucks amid slowdown in cargo movements.

Transporters said comfortable positions of trucks and restricted cargo movements, mainly led to drop in freight rates for select destinations.

Delhi to Mysore, Puducherry and Coimbatore freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 70,000, Rs 73,000 and Rs 77,000.

Freights to Baroda and Patna also moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 28,000 and Rs 26,000.
