Freight rate falls on excess position of trucks

Freight rates for ten-tonne load section declined by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following restricted cargo movements against heavy position of trucks.

Transporters said less arrivals of cargo along with large availability of trucks in the markets mainly pulled down some of centres freight rates.

Delhi to Bangalore, Chennai and Vijaywada rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 66,000, Rs 68,000 and Rs 62,000.

Rates to Pondicherry, Kochi and Guwahati rates also went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 70,000, Rs 75,000 and Rs 54,000.

Following are today's freights per 10-tonne load: Jaipur 21,500 Hyderabad 60,000
 

Chandigarh 22,000 Vijayawada 62,000

Ludhiana 22,500 Bangalore 66,000

Kanpur 23,000 Chennai 68,000

Indore 23,500 Mysore 70,000

Ahmedabad 25,000 Pondicherry 70,000

Baroda 26,000 Coimbatore 73,000

Patna 28,000 Kochi 75,000

Surat 29,000 Thiruvananthapuram 80,000 Mumbai 30,000 Goa 57,000

Pune 32,000 Gwalior 15,000

Kolkata 33,000 Guwahati 54,000.
