Freight rates decline on easy trucks position

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section declined by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following comfortable position of trucks amid restricted cargo movements.

Transporters said besides restricted cargo movements, excess availability of trucks mainly pulled down freight rates.

Delhi to Mysore, Coimbatore and Kochi freight rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 67,000, Rs 73,000 and Rs 76,000.

Rates to Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, Goa and Surat freights also fell by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 84,000, Rs 32,000, Rs 58,000 and Rs 27,000.
