Freight rates decline on large position of trucks

Freight rates for nine-tonne payload section declined by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following easy availability of trucks amid restricted cargo movements.

Transporters said slowdown in cargo movements in the wake of easy availability of trucks, mainly led to the decline in freight rates.

Freight rates from Delhi to Pune, Surat and Baroda moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 29,000, Rs 26,000 and Rs 23,000.

Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Chennai freight also went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 21,000, Rs 63,000 and Rs 66,000.
