Freight rates decline on large trucks availability

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section declined by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today following ample position of trucks against cargo movements.

Transporters said huge position of trucks amid restricted cargo movements pulled down freight rates for select destinations.

Delhi to Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Vijayawada freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 57,000, Rs 64,000 and Rs 59,000.

Rates to Mysore and Kochi also fell by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 70,000 and Rs 80,000.
