Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations came down by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following large availability of trucks against limited cargo movements.

Transporters said, easy position of trucks and restricted cargo movements mainly pulled down freight rates of some centres.

Delhi to Chandigarh and Kanpur freight rates were down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 17,000 and Rs 19,000, respectively.

Rates to Ludhiana and Ahmedabad also went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 18,000 and Rs 22,000, respectively.
