Freight rates down on excess trucks position

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section declined Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following easy availability of trucks against restricted cargo movements.

Transporters said large position of trucks in the market against slowdown in cargo movements, mainly brought down freight rates for some destinations.

Capital to Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Mysore freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 58,000, Rs 60,000 and Rs 68,000, respectively.

Rates to Patna, Mumbai and Kolkata also moved down by Rs 26,000, Rs 28,000 and Rs 32,000, respectively.
